National seminar on Himalayan Biodiversity: Characterization and Bioprospection for sustainable utilization was organized by the University of Kashmir under the aegis of Centre for Kashmir Himalayan Biodiversity: Documentation, Bioprospection  and Conservation sanctioned under the University Grants Commission’s (UGC’s) scheme of “Centre with Potential for Excellence in Particular Area” (CPEPA). Six (06) parallel sessions were organized during the seminar which was attended by 590 participants, including faculty members, research scholars, and students. Besides oral and poster presentations, about 10 (ten) plenary and lead lectures were delivered by invited speakers drawn from different leading institutions of the country.
